Ranchi, Jharkhand: Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore on Monday presented the Jharkhand state budget for FY 2026-27 in the assembly, totaling ₹1,58,560 crore. The budget emphasizes rural development, water resources, women and child welfare, education, health, and agriculture, aiming for balanced growth, investment, and social justice.

The budget outlines substantial allocations for vital sectors:
- Rural Development: ₹12,346.90 crore
- Water Resources: ₹2,714.71 crore
- Panchayati Raj: ₹2,283.25 crore
- Women & Child Development (Social Security): ₹22,995.69 crore
- Maiya Samman Scheme: ₹14,065.57 crore
- Primary & Secondary Education: ₹16,251.43 crore
- Higher & Technical Education: ₹2,564.45 crore
- Health & Family Welfare: ₹7,990.30 crore, including ₹200 crore for cancer treatment
- Drinking Water & Sanitation: ₹5,194.53 crore
- Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs: ₹2,887.27 crore

The government aims for a 14% targeted growth rate and plans to double Jharkhand’s GSDP in the next five years.

- Mahila Kisan Khushhali Yojana to empower women farmers with modern techniques and marketing platforms
- Expansion of cash crops and cold storage-enabled cooperative marketing complexes
- Promotion of minor forest produce value addition to enhance rural incomes
Education and Skill Development
- Development of all government polytechnic institutions as Jharkhand Institute of Technology
- Establishment of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Chatra
- Introduction of AI training in selected ITIs
Healthcare Investments
- Installation of PET-CT, cath labs, and mammography machines in medical colleges and district hospitals
- Provision of affordable medicines through 750 Abua Clinics
Infrastructure, Roads, and Tourism
- Extensive spending on village roads and bridges under Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak & Setu Yojana
- Promotion of tourism through glass bridges, ropeways, skywalks, solar boats, and floating restaurants
Investment and Employment
- ₹1.24 lakh crore investment proposals received via World Economic Forum platforms, expected to create 45,000 jobs
- Industrial policies aim for an additional ₹20,000 crore investment
Child and Gender Budget
- Child Budget: 10.7% of total plan allocation (~₹10,793 crore)
- Women-Focused Budget: Over ₹34,000 crore allocated for women-related schemes
