Ramgarh, Jharkhand: Ahead of the Shraddha Karma ceremony of the late Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP – and father of the current Chief Minister Hemant Soren – the Jharkhand government has deputed a team of seven senior officers to maintain law and order during the event. The ceremony is scheduled for August 16 in Soren’s native village Nemra, Ramgarh district.

Senior IAS Officer Rahul Sinha to Lead Security Operations

Leading the security arrangements is 2011 batch IAS officer Rahul Sinha, former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ranchi and currently serving as Mines Director. He has been assigned as the senior in-charge to oversee the law and order situation during the Shraddha Karma, ensuring a peaceful and orderly environment.

Key Officers Deployed for Security Management

Supporting Rahul Sinha are several other officers from Ranchi and nearby areas, including:

  • Rajeshwar Nath Alok, ADM Law and Order, Ranchi
  • Amit Bhagat, CO Kanke
  • Nitin Gupta, CO Argora
  • Sachidanand Kumar Verma, CO Budhmu
  • Pranav Ambasht, CO Khalari
  • Asim Kumar Bara, Executive Magistrate, Ranchi Sadar

Together, this team will coordinate to prevent any disturbances and facilitate smooth conduct of the Shraddha ceremony.

Expected Large Gathering from Across Jharkhand

The memorial event is anticipated to draw large crowds from all over Jharkhand, as people gather to pay homage to the late leader. The government’s proactive security measures underscore its commitment to maintaining peace during this sensitive period.

About Shraddha Karma

Shraddha Karma, also known as Shraddha or Śrāddha, is a Hindu ritual performed to honor and pay respects to deceased ancestors. It is a way to express gratitude, seek blessings, and ensure the peace and liberation of the departed souls. The ritual is often performed on the anniversary of the death or during Pitru Paksha, a fortnight dedicated to ancestors.
