The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), New Delhi, has promoted two senior officers of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) to higher posts in the Department. The promotions were formalized through an order issued on January 1.
Satbir Singh, IRS, has been promoted to the post of Additional Commissioner of Income Tax. A native of Jammu and Kashmir, Singh has held various key positions during his career, including roles as Income Tax Officer (ITO), Deputy Director of Income Tax (Investigation), and Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in Jammu, Srinagar, and Kathua. Currently, he serves in the Directorate of Income Tax (Vigilance) in New Delhi as Additional Director of Income Tax (Vigilance).
Rajesh Raina, IRS, has also been promoted to the post of Additional Commissioner of Income Tax. Hailing from J&K, Raina has previously served as an Income Tax Officer in Jammu and Srinagar. After his promotion in 2013, he took up assignments in Delhi as Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Director of Income Tax (Investigation). He has also served as Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in Kurukshetra and is presently stationed in the Directorate of Income Tax (Vigilance) in New Delhi as Additional Director of Income Tax.
