Kandarp Vajubhai Patel Appointed as Deputy Secretary in Department of Expenditure

Kandarp Vajubhai Patel, an officer of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) from the 2012 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Expenditure. His selection follows a recommendation by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for Central deputation.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an official order on Monday, November 4, 2024, confirming Mr. Patel’s appointment. According to the DoPT’s directive, Mr. Patel will serve as Deputy Secretary under the central staffing scheme for a tenure of four years or until further orders, whichever comes first. This appointment is a key position within the Department of Expenditure, responsible for overseeing various aspects of government spending and fiscal management.
