Thiruvananthapuram: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle aimed at optimizing governance and administrative efficiency, the Government of Kerala on Thursday announced new appointments and role reassignments for senior IAS officers. The reshuffle includes the creation of two ex-cadre posts and assignment of full additional charges to several officers across crucial departments.

Two Ex-Cadre Posts Created

1- Resident Commissioner, Kerala House, New Delhi

An ex-cadre post in the Chief Secretary grade has been created for a one-year term.

  • Puneet Kumar (IAS:1993:KL), Additional Chief Secretary, Local Self Government Department, has been appointed to the post.
  • The position was vacant after Ajiit Kumar (IAS:2006:KL) proceeded on Central Deputation as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT.

2- Additional Commissioner, Kerala GST Department

A second ex-cadre post has also been established for one year.

  • Sreelakshmi R (IAS:2019:KL), who was serving as Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, has been posted to this new role.

Full Additional Charges Assigned

The reshuffle also includes additional charges for at least seven IAS officers, assigned to ensure efficient coordination between departments:

Mohammed Hanish APM (IAS:1996:KL)

  • Principal Secretary, Industries Department
  • Assigned additional charge of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department

Biju K (IAS:2006:KL)

  • Secretary, Public Works Department
  • Appointed Special Officer, Capital Region Development Project-II

Dr. K Vasuki (IAS:2008:KL)

  • Secretary, Labour and Skills Department
  • Assigned additional charge of General Education Department

Anupama T V (IAS:2010:KL)

  • Special Secretary, Local Self Government Department
  • Assigned role of Special Secretary (Co-ordination)

Mohammed Y Safirulla K (IAS:2010:KL)

  • Special Secretary
  • Appointed *Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary

Dr. Veena N Madhavan (IAS:2010:KL)

  • Special Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department

Assigned additional charges of

  • Special Secretary, Co-operation Department
  • Special Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs Department
  • Member Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board
