New Delhi/Agartala: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has cleared significant personnel decisions involving senior officers in the Central Vigilance Commission, Ministry of Defence, and the Government of Tripura.

Priyanka Singh’s Tenure Extended in Central Vigilance Commission

Priyanka Singh (IRS-IT:2006) has received an extension of her central deputation tenure as Director in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). As per an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on July 15, 2025, her tenure has been extended for one year, i.e., from August 13, 2025, to August 12, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh, an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer, began her central deputation to the CVC in August 2020. The extension signifies the CVC’s continued reliance on her administrative experience and vigilance capabilities in handling corruption and oversight-related matters.

Dipti Mohil Chawla Continues as Additional Secretary in Defence Ministry

In a parallel development, Dipti Mohil Chawla (IDAS:1995) has also been granted an extension of her central deputation tenure as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.

According to the same DoPT notification, her tenure has been extended until May 6, 2026, or until further orders. Chawla is a senior officer from the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) and has been closely involved in critical finance and policy matters related to defence acquisitions and military spending reforms.

Ajit Sukladas Appointed to Key Development Posts in Tripura

In a major reshuffle at the state level, Ajit Sukladas (IAS:2014:Tripura) has been appointed as Director – Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture and Managing Director – Tripura Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (THHDC) Ltd, Agartala.

Sukladas currently serves as Additional Secretary – Rural Development Department, with additional charges as CEO and Additional CEO – Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM). His new assignments mark a strategic focus by the Tripura government on strengthening the handloom and handicrafts sector, particularly with livelihood and cultural promotion initiatives.
