With an increase of positive cases by 46,232 in the last 24 hours, the total count of corona cases in India has crossed the 9 million mark. The Covid scare has also reached the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie where 33 official trainees (OTs) got caught with the virus leaving the academy sealed for two days.
Strict precautions are being taken in the academy where social distancing and the mask-rule are being rigorously followed. The Covid testing of other trainees and the staff members is also under process.
After 33 OTs tested positive for Covid, they were immediately shifted to a Covid care centre which is inbuilt in the academy itself. Full treatment of these OTs is being done in the centre itself. The classes have been shifted to online mode till November 30. Other official trainees have been sent to room isolation and they are instructed to attend all the classes from their respected rooms itself.
The 95th Foundation course commenced with 428 OTs out of the 829 successful candidates this year. At the time, the academy assured all Covid protocols and RT-PCR test for Covid-19 was taken of all the OTs before they entered the academy. Inside the academy, these OTs were provided with a set of N-95 masks, sanitizer, thermometer, and Covid-19 instructions.
