New Delhi / Mangaluru: Rajinder Kumar, Indian Economic Service officer (2003 batch) and Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has stepped down from his role as Government Nominee Director at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), following his transfer to another ministry.
His resignation from the MRPL Board became effective July 28, 2025, as per official communication from the company. The development is in line with standard government protocol, which requires directors to vacate board positions upon reassignment to different ministries or departments.

During his tenure, he served as Government Nominee Director not only at MRPL but also on the boards of Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL) and Balmer Lawrie & Co. Limited, bringing strategic insight and policy expertise to India’s energy and industrial sectors.
