Ujjain: In a major push towards holistic development and global wellness leadership, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Spiritual and Wellness Summit in Ujjain, declaring the state’s intention to become a global center of wellness, spirituality, and innovation. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary initiatives like “Heal in India” and LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), the summit marked a pivotal moment in positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leader in wellness-driven tourism and investment.
Speaking at the event, CM Yadav said, “Madhya Pradesh is fully prepared to lead India’s wellness mission. This summit is a transformative initiative where policy, investment, spirituality, and social welfare converge.” He held 14 one-on-one meetings with leading investors from the wellness and hospitality sector, resulting in investment proposals worth Rs 1,929 crore.
Investment Proposals and Strategic Agreements
Key proposals came from–
- Bhandari Group – ₹984 crore
- Amaltas Group – ₹400 crore
- CHL Hospital Group – ₹200 crore
Other prominent names included Shatayu Ayurveda, Royal Orchid, and Jindal Naturocare Institute.
An MoU was signed between the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Ahmedabad and MPIDC, which will provide technical and educational support to the upcoming Ujjain Medical Device Park, envisioned as a testing and certification hub for wellness and medical technologies.
Spiritual leader Swami Chidanand Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh also graced the summit, delivering a keynote address and handing over a Letter of Intent to establish a wellness center in Ujjain.
Roadmap for Holistic Wellness
Two panel discussions outlined a comprehensive roadmap on–
- Developing wellness infrastructure
- Simhastha-based medical tourism
- Employment and skill development in the wellness sector
The state government reiterated its commitment to fostering a clean, spiritual, and healthy lifestyle culture, with the CM highlighting the coincidence of World Environment Day and Ganga Dussehra. The state relaunched its green initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, under which 5 crore saplings were planted.
Economic and Industrial Push
CM Yadav emphasized that the state has received investment proposals worth Rs 30 lakh crore through recent industry conclaves and the Global Investors Summit, creating an opportunity for over 21.75 lakh jobs. He declared 2025 as Industry Year, with sector-specific summits like the IT Summit in Indore and Agri Summits in Mandsaur and Narsinghpur already yielding fruitful results.
Madhya Pradesh: Land of Stability and Promise
Chief Minister Yadav assured potential investors of the state’s conducive ecosystem: “With surplus electricity, robust infrastructure, clear policies, and a stable government, Madhya Pradesh guarantees success.” He invited global wellness entrepreneurs to begin their India journey from Ujjain and contribute to making India a world leader in spiritual and wellness tourism.
