CM Dr. Mohan Yadav paid floral tributes to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla, the first Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh, on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the Central Hall of the Vidhan Sabha on Saturday. The solemn tribute was marked by the presence of several key political leaders and public representatives.
Distinguished Leaders Participate in Ceremony
Alongside the Chief Minister, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar, Cooperative Minister Mr. Vishwas Sarang, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (In-Charge) Ms. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ms. Radha Singh, MLA Mr. Bhagwandas Sabnani, and other public representatives were present to honour the memory and legacy of Pt. Shukla.
Recognising the Architect of Modern Madhya Pradesh
Speaking on the occasion, CM Mohan Yadav stated that after the formation of Madhya Pradesh, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla laid the groundwork for the state’s development. “The progress we witness today stands firmly on the vision and foundational efforts of Pt. Shukla. His contribution continues to inspire the governance and development of our state,” Dr. Yadav said.
He also lauded the initiative of Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar for beginning the tradition of formally remembering the former Chief Ministers and Assembly Speakers, which he called a valuable step towards instilling awareness and respect in the younger generation.
Speaker Tomar Highlights Need to Preserve Legacy
Addressing the media, Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar emphasised the importance of commemorating the legacies of leaders who shaped Madhya Pradesh. “The state was formed on 1 November 1956, and Pt. Ravishankar Shukla, as the first Chief Minister, played a pivotal role in giving the state its administrative and developmental foundation,” he remarked. He added, “We draw strength and inspiration from his life and sacrifices. May we all have the courage to walk the path he showed us.”
The event served as a reminder of Madhya Pradesh’s political heritage and the enduring legacy of Pt. Shukla, whose vision continues to influence the state’s growth and governance trajectory.
