Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav delivered a powerful and motivating speech at the Madhya Pradesh Shikhar Khel Alankaran event and felicitation ceremony for the medal winners of the 38th National Games 2025. The event was held at Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal, where Dr. Yadav emphasized the true spirit of sportsmanship, drawing inspiration from the lives of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.

Sportsmanship Rooted in Indian Mythology: Lessons from Lord Rama and Lord Krishna

Dr Yadav highlighted how sportsmanship is deeply embedded in the transformative episodes of Lord Rama and Shri Krishna’s lives. He narrated how Maharishi Vishwamitra sought young Lord Rama’s courage to defeat demons terrorizing the forests, exemplifying the essence of taking on challenges with determination. The Chief Minister remarked that Lord Rama’s victory over demons and his symbolic act of breaking Lord Shiva’s bow represent the spirit of a true player—one who accepts challenges and triumphs.

He further discussed how sports impart freedom, courage, and resilience. Drawing from Lord Krishna’s childhood, born in imprisonment and repeatedly targeted by the tyrant Kansa, Dr. Yadav explained how Krishna’s defiance and clever strategies to protect his people showcased the qualities of a sportsman. Krishna’s effort to reclaim milk and ghee meant for Kansa symbolized persistence, teamwork, and the refusal to surrender—qualities every player must embrace.

A player is one who accepts the challenge, competes, wins, and achieves the highest standards of life,” Dr. Yadav stated, extending his heartfelt congratulations to all the medal-winning athletes.

Sarang highlighted the impressive rise of Madhya Pradesh in the National Games, climbing from 21st to 3rd position, attributing this success to the dedication of athletes and strong leadership under Dr. Mohan Yadav—himself an avid sportsman. The minister called upon players to pledge that Madhya Pradesh would soon rise to number one.

He further announced the Chief Minister’s commitment to constructing stadiums in every assembly constituency to nurture sporting talent and infrastructure across the state.

Madhya Pradesh’s Journey to Sporting Excellence

The 38th National Games saw Madhya Pradesh securing a strong third position—a testament to the hard work and perseverance of its athletes. The felicitation ceremony not only celebrated these achievements but also inspired the sports community to aim higher.
