Rewa: Madhya Pradesh‘s Rewa Airport has officially commenced direct flight services to Delhi, marking a historic milestone for the Vindhya region. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav virtually inaugurated the service, addressing the program and flagging off the first ATR-72 flight, which has a seating capacity of 72 passengers.
Historic Connectivity for Rewa
Speaking at the virtual event, CM Yadav highlighted the significance of the new air service for Rewa. “Earlier, even with prominent leaders and Chief Ministers from the Vindhya region, Rewa struggled to get railway connectivity. Now, air travel is a reality. What used to take 15 hours to reach Delhi can now be done in just 120 minutes,” he said.
CM Yadav emphasized that this new air service strengthens Madhya Pradesh’s position as a leader in the aviation sector nationwide. He also mentioned that the flight will improve connectivity for tourists visiting major destinations such as Bandhavgarh National Park, Panna National Park, Khajuraho, Amarkantak, Chitrakoot, and Maa Sharda Dham.

Flight Schedule and Operations
The ATR-72 aircraft operated by Alliance Air Aviation will initially run three days a week — Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Economic and Regional Impact
CM Yadav noted that the new flight service is essential for Rewa and will provide significant benefits for the state’s financial operations. “This flight drastically reduces travel time from 15 hours to just two hours, making it easier for business and tourism activities alike. Now, one can reach Rewa from Delhi in just three hours,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, present at the event in Rewa, called the day “historic” for the region and said that the new air service would play a crucial role in linking the Vindhya region with the rest of India through aviation connectivity.
