The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday has issued orders to give 11 percent Dearness allowance (DA) to All India Services (IAS, IPS, IFS) officers from July 1 and 3 percent from January 1, 2022. With this, each officer will get a benefit of up to Rs 30,000 per month and a lump sum amount of arrears will be Rs 2 to 2.50 lakh.
An additional burden of Rs 30 crore will come on this payment. This is the first time after the 7th pay scale was implemented in the state from January 1, 2016, when the orders for giving dearness allowance to the officers and employees of the state and the officers of the All India Services have come out separately. Till January 2020, orders have been issued to give DA to both of them equally.
The current number of IAS, IPS and IFS officers in the state is more than 1000, who will get the benefit of dearness allowance from the central date. Of these, there are 550 officers who have come into service after 2004, they will get direct benefit in the NPS (National Pension Scheme) deduction every month. The deduction of Rs 3000 will be more from their salary every month, that means till now the deduction was getting Rs 49 thousand according to 10 percent of their own and 14 percent of the government, however, now it will be 52 thousand rupees.
The officers and employees of the state have lagged behind in terms of arrears and deduction in NPS. The state government employees are facing a loss of Rs.33 thousand of minimum arrears and Rs.1 lakh 27 thousand to the officers. On making this payment, there will be an additional financial burden of Rs 1800 crore. This benefit will be given to the government if the DA is not paid from the central date.
