Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure and supporting athletes to boost participation and performance in international sporting events, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Addressing the annual meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association held in Jabalpur via virtual mode from his residence, Dr. Yadav stated that efforts are underway to ensure that a greater number of players from the state participate and win medals in global competitions. “We are operating various sports initiatives with the objective that Madhya Pradesh athletes excel in international arenas,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state is working relentlessly to expand sports infrastructure, offer advanced training, and provide necessary support and encouragement to players. He also assured full cooperation to the Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Additional Chief Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare Mr. Manu Srivastava, and Upper Principal Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura were also present virtually.
Dr. Yadav praised the association’s role since its inception in 1952 and lauded Madhya Pradesh’s outstanding performance at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand, where the state secured third place for the first time.
He noted that the state currently has more than 22 hockey astroturfs and 15 athletic tracks—figures unmatched by any other state. Additionally, Madhya Pradesh houses 18 sports excellence academies. Dr. Yadav extended congratulations and best wishes to all office bearers of the association for their continued contributions to sports development in the state.
