MP: In a sustained effort to provide students with better, modern, and high-quality education, the Madhya Pradesh government is actively strengthening its school education system under the Central Government’s PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) Scheme. As part of this initiative, 799 government schools across the state have been selected to be developed as model institutions in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Transformation of Government Schools
The School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh is working to transform these selected schools into inclusive, student-centric, and future-ready institutions. The initiative focuses on improving both academic standards and physical infrastructure to ensure a comprehensive learning environment for students from all backgrounds.
Infrastructure and Academic Upgradation
Under the PM SHRI scheme, extensive upgrades are being carried out in classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, and other essential facilities. Modern teaching tools and learning resources are being introduced to enhance classroom engagement and improve educational outcomes.
Green and Sustainable School Initiative
In line with the concept of green schools, sustainability measures such as the installation of solar panels, access to safe drinking water, and improved sanitation facilities have been implemented. These steps aim to promote environmental responsibility while ensuring healthy learning spaces.
Digital and ICT Integration
To strengthen digital learning, ICT labs, interactive smart panels, and digital libraries are being established in high schools and higher secondary schools. These initiatives are designed to boost digital literacy and align school education with emerging technological trends.
Focus on Holistic Student Development
The scheme places strong emphasis on the all-round development of students. Facilities and programs related to sports, yoga, music, career counseling, and mental health support are being expanded to foster physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
Skill Development and Vocational Education
As part of skill-based learning, vocational courses are currently being conducted in 650 schools. These courses provide practical training and exposure to various trades, helping students develop employable skills and career readiness.
Enhanced Safety and Security Measures
To ensure student safety, schools are being equipped with CCTV surveillance systems and fire safety mechanisms, creating a secure and protected educational environment.
Towards Quality and Inclusive Education
Through the PM SHRI initiative, the Madhya Pradesh government is reinforcing its commitment to quality, inclusive, and equitable education. By aligning schools with NEP 2020, the state aims to nurture skilled, confident, and future-ready citizens.
