Madras HC sets aside conviction of IAS officer Aneesh Kumar

IAS officer Aneesh Kumar has been given a relief by Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. The Bench rejected an order to undergo simple imprisonment for disobeying the court’s order.

The division bench of Justices N. Kirubakaran and B. Pugalendhi allowed the appeal sought by former Madurai Corporation Commissioner, Aneesh Sekhar against the single judge’s order of 2019 and set aside the sentence. The single judge had sentenced Aneesh for failing to follow the court’s order pertaining to fixing the seniority list for the cadre of assistants in the civic agency.
