Mumbai: In a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving field-level administrative efficiency, the Government of Maharashtra on Thursday transferred 25 IAS officers, including several district collectors, municipal commissioners, and senior officers heading key departments.
The transfer order, issued on April 2, covers major appointments across urban administration, district leadership, industrial bodies, rural development institutions, and municipal corporations.
The reshuffle affects officers posted in strategic districts such as Nagpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Latur, Chandrapur and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
Major Municipal Commissioner-Level Transfers
Among the most prominent changes, G Sreekanth, Municipal Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Municipal Corporation, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Jal Jeevan Mission in Navi Mumbai.
- Rajendra Bharud, who was serving as Project Director of RUSA under Higher and Technical Education, has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Kolhapur.
- K Manjulekshmi, Municipal Commissioner of Kolhapur, has been transferred as Additional Municipal Commissioner, PMRDA, Pune.
- Varsha Ladda from Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research, Pune, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Amravati.
- Amol Yedge, Collector of Kolhapur, has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
- Sanjita Mohapatra has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Sangli Miraj Kupwad City Municipal Corporation.
- Anjali Sharma has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Jalna Municipal Corporation.
District Collectors Shifted Across Key Districts
Several important collector-level postings have also been announced.
- Kumar Ashirwad, previously Collector of Solapur, has been appointed Collector of Nagpur.
- Karthikeyan S, CEO of Kolhapur Zilla Parishad, has been posted as Collector of Solapur.
- Pravinkumar Deore, Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, has been appointed Collector of Buldhana.
- Bharat Bastewad, Commissioner of MGNREGS Nagpur, has been posted as Collector of Latur.
- Vijay Rathod, Joint CEO of MIDC, will now serve as Collector of Kolhapur.
- Vinay Gowda G C, Collector of Chandrapur, has been transferred as Collector of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
- Vasumana Pant has been appointed Collector of Chandrapur.
- Mangesh Gondawale has been posted as Collector of Gondia.
MIDC, PMRDA and State Development Institutions Get New Leadership
- Varsha Thakur Ghuge, Collector of Latur, has been appointed Joint Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation in Mumbai.
- Deepak Singla, Additional Commissioner in PMRDA Pune, has been appointed Commissioner of MGNREGS in Nagpur.
- Deelip Swami, Collector of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, has been posted as Managing Director of Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation in Akola.
Pune and Nagpur Urban Administration Strengthened
- Prajit Nair, Collector of Gondia, has been appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation.
- Ankit, CEO of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishad, has been posted as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
These appointments are expected to strengthen urban administrative coordination in two of Maharashtra’s most important urban centres.
Zilla Parishad Leadership Reshuffled Across Multiple Districts
Several grassroots administrative positions have also been reassigned.
- Minnu P M, CEO of Jalna Zilla Parishad, has been appointed CEO of Zilla Parishad Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
- Satyam Gandhi, Municipal Commissioner of Sangli Miraj Kupwad, has been appointed CEO of Zilla Parishad Amravati.
- Jasmine, Assistant Collector of Rajapur subdivision, has been posted as CEO of Zilla Parishad Kolhapur.
- Krishnakant Kanwaria, Assistant Collector of Shahada subdivision in Nandurbar, has been appointed CEO of Zilla Parishad Jalna.
Administrative Purpose Behind the Reshuffle
Officials indicate that the reshuffle is aimed at ensuring:
