Maharashtra: Several IAS Officers Were Promoted On New Year’s Eve, Sonia Sethi & 5 Others Were Elevated To ACS Rank

On the last day of the year, the Maharashtra government announced a significant reshuffle involving the transfer and promotion of senior IAS officers.

Key Transfers:

  • Mr. HS Sonawane (2010-batch IAS officer) Inspector General of Registration and Stamps, has been replaced by Mr. Ravindra Binwade (2012-batch IAS officer), previously the State Agriculture Commissioner.
  • Mr. Suraj Mandhare (2010-batch IAS officer), Sports and Youth Commissioner, has been appointed as the new Agriculture Commissioner.
  • Mr. I A Kundan (1996-batch IAS officer), Principal Secretary, School Education and Sports, has been replaced by Mr. Ranjit Singh Deol, Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supply.
  • Mr. Sachindra Pratap Singh (2007-batch IAS officer), Secretary, Divyang Welfare Department, is now Commissioner of School Education.
  • Mr. Prashant Narnavare (2008-batch IAS officer), Commissioner, Women and Child Welfare, has been appointed as Secretary, Special Inquiry Officer in the General Administration Department.
  • Mr. Ruchesh Jayvanshi (2009-batch IAS officer), CEO, Rashtriya Gramin Jivannoti Abhiyan, is now Secretary, Minority Affairs Department.
  • Ms. Geetanjali Baviskar (1996-batch IAS officer), President, Nashik District Caste Verification Committee, has been appointed as CEO, Maharashtra State Khadi and Gramodyog Board.
  • Mr. Pradip P, CEO, Maharashtra State Khadi and Gramodyog Board, is now Fisheries Commissioner.
  • Mr. Aahok Karanjkar (2009-batch IAS officer) has been appointed as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Finance Corporation.

Promotions:

  • Five Principal Secretaries—Ms. Sonia Sethi (1994-batch IAS officer), Mr. Dinesh Waghmare (1994-batch IAS officer), Mr. Santosh Kumar (1994-batch IAS officer), Mr. Aseem Gupta (1994-batch IAS officer), and Mr. B Venugopal Reddy (1994-batch IAS officer)—have been elevated to Additional Chief Secretary rank.
  • Mr. Piyush Singh (2000-batch IAS officer) has been promoted to Principal Secretary.
  • Mr. Milind Borikar, Mr. Ravindra Binwade, Mr. Deepak Singla, Mr. Kunal Prakash Khemnar, and Ms. Nidhi Choudhary have been promoted to IAS Selection Grade (Level-13).
  • Mr. Yogesh Mhase (2009-batch IAS officer), Pune Metropolitan Commissioner, and Mr. Rajesh Narvekar (2009-batch IAS officer), Food and Drug Administration Commissioner, have been promoted to Level-14 in the pay matrix.
  • The Mahatma Phule Backward Classes Development Corporation, Mr. Manik Gursal (2009-batch IAS officer), CEO, Maharashtra Maritime Board, and others have also been promoted to Level-14 in the pay matrix.
