Amid President’s Rule in Manipur, the state government has issued transfer orders for nine senior police officers and five IAS and Indian Forest Service officers, as per official notifications released on Wednesday.
Key Police Transfers:
- Mr. Shivanand Surve (IPS), Superintendent of Police (SP) of Senapati district, has been transferred as SP of Thoubal district.
- Mr. Th Vikramjit Singh (2004-batch IPS officer), SP of Kakching, has been reassigned as Commandant of the 10th IRB.
- Mr. Dharmendra Kumar (IPS), SDPO of Lamlai, has been promoted to SP of Senapati district.
- Ms. Priyadarshini Laishram (MPS), SP (Immigration), has been posted as SP of Kakching.
- Mr. S Ibomcha (IPS), in charge of SP Thoubal, has been transferred as Commanding Officer of the 6th IRB, with an additional charge of the Commando Unit SP.
- Mr. Mohammed Zaib Zakir (IPS) was moved from his position as senior SO to the Director General of Police to take over as SP of Jiribam district.
Key IAS & Forest Service Transfers:
- Mr. Anurag Bajpai (1994-batch Indian Forest Service officer), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce, and Industries), has been given the additional charge of Tribal Affairs and Hills.
- Mr. Naorem Praveen (2012-batch IAS officer), Director of Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency, has been assigned additional charge as Secretary of Education – Schools.
Official Order:

These administrative changes come as Manipur remains under President’s Rule, which was imposed on February 13, 2025, following the resignation of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. The Manipur Assembly remains under suspended animation, with governance being directly overseen by the Central Government.
