Imphal: Six officers from the Manipur State Police Service have been promoted to the Indian Police Service (IPS), strengthening the state’s police leadership, according to an official order issued by the Under Secretary to the Government of India.
UPSC Select List 2024 Finalized
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) approved the IPS Select List for 2024, selecting the officers to fill substantive vacancies in the Manipur cadre. The list was finalized during a UPSC meeting held on October 7, 2025, under Regulation 7(3) of the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955.
Officers Promoted
The six officers included in the IPS Select List are Ms Priyadarshini Laishram, Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh, Mr Mohemed Jackiruddin, Mr Sarangthem Asana, Mr Bembem Nongthombam, and Mr Rajkumar Manbindu Singh. Copies of the official notification have been forwarded to the Chief Secretary of Manipur for further communication, with UPSC also informed for record-keeping.
IPS Probationers Engaged in Border Security Efforts
In a related development, ten IPS probationers recently met Governor of Manipur, Mr Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan on November 28, 2025. These probationers are actively engaged in duties addressing the prevailing challenges in the border state, particularly initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and security in volatile areas.
