In a major administrative reshuffle, IAS officer Manjunath Bhajantri has been reappointed as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ranchi. Meanwhile, the current DC of Ranchi, Varun Ranjan, has been transferred and appointed as the Managing Director of Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (JIIDCO).
Manjunath Bhajantri’s Return to Ranchi
Manjunath Bhajantri previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi before being removed from the post ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024. He was then appointed as the CEO of the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). Now, he has once again been given the charge of Ranchi.
Varun Ranjan’s New Role
Varun Ranjan, the outgoing Ranchi DC, has been transferred to JIIDCO as its Managing Director. His leadership is expected to bring renewed focus to industrial and infrastructure development in the state.
This reshuffle is seen as a strategic move by the government to strengthen administrative efficiency and accelerate development projects across Jharkhand.
