New Delhi: As part of its ongoing three-month preventive vigilance campaign, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) organized a vibrant Diwali Mela on October 8, 2025. The initiative aims to combine vigilance awareness with community development, reflecting MDL’s commitment to social empowerment and inclusive growth.
The Diwali Mela provided a unique platform for more than 10 Self Help Groups (SHGs) to showcase and sell a diverse range of products, including handicrafts, furnishings, apparel, paintings, and food items. The event saw enthusiastic participation from MDL employees as well as local residents, who supported the SHGs and rural artisans, encouraging traditional craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
Inauguration and Leadership Participation
The Mela was inaugurated by Captain Jagmohan, CMD of MDL, in the presence of Hari Narayan Jangid, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Commander Vasudev Puranik, Director (CP&P), Commodore Shailesh Jamgaonkar, Director (S&HE), and other senior officials along with employees. The members of the SHGs expressed their gratitude to MDL for providing them with an opportunity to connect with a wider audience and promote their traditional skills.
Vigilance Awareness Week 2025
In line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), MDL will observe Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) from October 27 to November 2, 2025. The campaign highlights the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” emphasizing collective efforts to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability.
