New Delhi: The Ministry of Power will organize a National Conference on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the Power Distribution Sector on 6–7 December 2025 in New Delhi. The conference, part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aims to showcase innovations in smart metering, analytics, and digital power systems, driving India’s transition toward a more intelligent and efficient power distribution network.
Conference Objectives and Organizers
The event will be co-organized by REC Limited, the lead agency for RDSS, and Power Finance Corporation (PFC). It will bring together government agencies, DISCOMs, technology providers, and smart metering partners to highlight successful AI and ML applications in power distribution.
The main objectives of the conference include:
- Demonstrating smart meter data analysis for efficiency and revenue protection.
- Showcasing AI-driven automation and smart home technologies.
- Promoting integrated IT and OT systems to optimize costs and improve consumer experience.
- Encouraging digital transformation across power distribution companies.
Participation and Presentations
The conference will feature presentations from 35 selected organizations, including DISCOMs, Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Providers (AMISPs), Technology Solution Providers (TSPs), and Home Automation Solution Providers (HASPs). Key focus areas will include:
- Demand forecasting and load management.
- Revenue protection and loss reduction.
- System integration and digital operations.
- Mobile apps for field staff and consumers.
Notable innovations will be highlighted in a special session with the Honorable Minister of Power on the second day, followed by an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding technological contributions in AI, ML, and smart metering solutions.
Call for Participation
Organizations interested in showcasing their AI, ML, and smart metering solutions can submit applications until midnight on 21 November 2025. The organizing committee will finalize participants based on relevance and suitability.
