New Delhi: The Ministry of Steel, along with its affiliated Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), has announced its active participation in Special Campaign 5.0, which will take place from October 2 to October 31, 2025. This year’s campaign aims to deepen the Ministry’s commitment to cleanliness, sustainable waste management, and efficient governance.

Building upon the success of Special Campaign 4.0 held in October 2024, the upcoming campaign introduces four core focus areas:

E-Waste Management:

The Ministry will implement scientific disposal and environmentally compliant handling of electronic waste (e-waste) to reduce its ecological footprint.

Mechanised Cleaning Practices:

Digital platforms and outreach initiatives will be leveraged to raise public awareness and encourage community participation in cleanliness and sustainability drives.

Campaign Timeline: Two Phases for Greater Impact

Preparatory Phase (September 15–30, 2025):

Identification of targets, baseline assessments, and resource planning.

Implementation Phase (October 2–31, 2025):

Execution of initiatives, progress monitoring, and documentation of measurable outcomes.

Achievements of Special Campaign 4.0 Set the Stage

During Special Campaign 4.0, the Ministry of Steel successfully:

  • Cleared a significant backlog of files and grievances
  • Optimized office space through disposal of unused materials
  • Streamlined scrap disposal
  • Improved grievance redressal mechanisms

These successes laid the groundwork for sustained improvement in cleanliness and administrative efficiency throughout the year.

Commitment to Efficient and Citizen-Centric Governance

The Ministry reiterated its dedication to Swachhata, effective grievance redressal, and green practices. Special Campaign 5.0 is aligned with the Government of India’s larger vision of citizen-centric, efficient, and environmentally responsible governance.
