MMTC Appoints Kundan Kumar Mishra as Director (Finance) for Five-Year Term 

Kundan Kumar Mishra, who has over 28 years of experience in finance and corporate management, assumes charge at MMTC for a five-year term from August 3, 2026.

New Delhi: MMTC Ltd has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Kundan Kumar Mishra as Director (Finance). Mishra, who previously served as an Additional General Manager at NTPC Limited, has been appointed for a five-year term following approval from the Government of India.

He assumed charge as Director (Finance) at MMTC on August 3, 2026.

Government Approves Kundan Kumar Mishra’s Appointment

According to MMTC’s stock exchange filing, Mishra’s appointment was cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) based on the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). Following the completion of the required corporate approvals, MMTC informed the NSE and BSE about the appointment.

Mishra will serve as Director (Finance) for a five-year period and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial functions and strategic financial planning.

Kundan Kumar Mishra Has Over 28 Years of Experience

Mishra brings more than 28 years of professional experience in finance, business development and corporate management.

He is a graduate in Chemistry and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

Before joining MMTC, Mishra was associated with NTPC and held several key positions. His professional experience includes:

  • Additional General Manager at NTPC Limited
  • DGM/CFO at KBUNL, an NTPC subsidiary
  • AGM (Business Development)
  • Experience at CMHQ Ranchi

During his career, he has worked across financial planning, budgeting, stakeholder negotiations and business operations.

Mishra’s Finance and Management Experience

Mishra has been involved in strengthening strategic financial planning and financial controls during his career.

As CFO of KBUNL, he was responsible for financial planning, budgeting and stakeholder engagement. He has also handled the monitoring of overall operations and maintained budget and capital budget controls. His experience in strategic finance and corporate management is expected to support MMTC’s financial operations and long-term business planning.

What Will Kundan Kumar Mishra Handle at MMTC?

As Director (Finance), Mishra will oversee key financial and strategic functions at MMTC.

His responsibilities will include:

  • Financial operations and management
  • Budget and capital budget planning
  • Strategic financial planning
  • Financial controls
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting the company’s long-term financial strategy

His previous experience with NTPC and its subsidiary is expected to bring additional expertise to MMTC’s senior management team.

MMTC Confirms Regulatory Compliance

MMTC has also confirmed that Mishra is not debarred from holding the office of Director under any order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority. The company further stated that he has no relationship with any of the existing directors of MMTC Limited.

The appointment disclosure was submitted to the NSE and BSE in compliance with the applicable SEBI requirements, including SEBI Master Circular No. SEBI/HO/CFD/PoD2/CIR/P/0155 dated November 11, 2024.
