Bhopal: The Mohan Yadav-led cabinet convened an important meeting today in Bhopal, taking major decisions on infrastructure development, irrigation projects, gas supply, and welfare schemes. MSME Minister Chetanya Kashyap briefed the media, highlighting the cabinet’s approvals and discussions aimed at accelerating development and supporting government employees and youth.
Singhsthan Preparations: 5.5 km Road Approved
The cabinet approved the construction of a 5.5-kilometer-long road to facilitate preparations for the upcoming Singhsthan event. The project is estimated to cost ₹945 crore and is expected to improve connectivity and accessibility in the region.

Public Works and Gas Supply Updates
The cabinet also approved the continuation of several Public Works Department (PWD) projects worth ₹4,525 crore. Discussions on the current status of gas supply revealed that the state has sufficient availability, with clear directions issued to district collectors for effective management.
Irrigation Projects and Jal Mahotsav Planning
Rewa district received approval for a new irrigation project valued at ₹228 crore. Additionally, in view of the approaching summer, the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan (Water Conservation Campaign) will resume on March 19, coinciding with the Hindu New Year. All public representatives will actively participate in the initiative. Plans for organizing a Jal Mahotsav were also discussed to promote water conservation and awareness.
Welfare Measures for Government Employees
The cabinet, under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s leadership, approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. This step is expected to provide financial relief amid rising inflation and boost employee morale across the state.
Free Training for OBC Youth
A new initiative has been approved to provide free training to 12th-pass youth from Other Backward Classes (OBC) to prepare them for recruitment in the armed forces, paramilitary, home guards, and police.
Training Details:
- Duration: 45 days
- Objective: Physical and mental preparation for competitive recruitment
- Venue: All 10 divisional headquarters of the state
This scheme aims to empower youth by enhancing their employability and equipping them with the skills required for government service.
