Bhopal– The Madhya Pradesh cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, held a meeting on Wednesday in which several significant policy decisions were taken to support farmers, boost agricultural procurement, and push infrastructure development across the state.
Waiver on Irrigation Interest and Penalty
The cabinet approved a waiver on the interest and penalties imposed on irrigation water charges. Farmers will be required to deposit only the principal amount by March 2026 to avail this benefit. The government will bear ₹84.14 crore towards the outstanding interest component.

Request to Expand Moong Procurement Quota
In light of the upcoming moong harvest, the cabinet decided to approach the central government to increase the procurement quota. While the state expects around 20 lakh metric tonnes of moong to be produced, the Centre has permitted procurement of only 3.1 lakh metric tonnes. The state seeks to increase this limit to 8.57 lakh metric tonnes, aiming for 40% of the total expected production to be procured at MSP.
Redevelopment of Lake View Residency Hotel, Bhopal
The state cabinet approved the redevelopment of the Lake View Residency Hotel in Bhopal. The state government will cover the cost of registration and development charges, aiming to attract private investors and improve the tourism infrastructure in the capital city.
66 New Anganwadi Centres in Tribal Areas
Under a tribal welfare initiative, the cabinet approved the construction of 66 new Anganwadi centres in remote tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh. These centres will support early childhood development and nutrition. The total cost is estimated at ₹19.1 crore, with ₹10.45 crore being provided by the central government.
CAMPA Fund Allocation and Vision Documents
The cabinet gave approval for the use of ₹1,478.38 crore from the CAMPA fund for afforestation, wildlife conservation, habitat development, and rural capacity building. Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed all ministers to visit their districts between July 23 and 28 to prepare district-level vision documents in consultation with local legislators and public representatives. These documents will be used to guide future budget planning and development priorities.
