Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid the foundation for 15 major development projects worth ₹760.78 crore and inaugurated two projects worth ₹33 crore in Ujjain. The initiatives aim to enhance urban infrastructure, tourism, and religious facilities ahead of the grand Simhasth 2028, which is expected to attract millions of devotees from across the globe.
₹140 Crore Shani Lok and Other Religious Projects
Among the major projects, the construction of Shani Lok with a budget of ₹140 crore was announced. Additionally, development work is being carried out at Mangalnath and other religious sites to improve facilities for devotees. CM Yadav emphasized that these projects will support spiritual tourism and local economy, ensuring a world-class experience during Simhasth 2028.
Major Infrastructure Projects in Ujjain
The Chief Minister performed the foundation stone laying for:
- 6-lane Harifatak Railway Overbridge worth ₹371.11 crore
- Various urban development works costing ₹389.67 crore
- 836 new police residential units worth ₹232.73 crore
- New Sports Complex costing ₹36 crore
The projects also include upgrades to roads leading to Ujjain, with highways being expanded to 4 and 6 lanes as needed, ensuring smooth travel for the increasing number of devotees.
Enhancing Pilgrim Facilities
Dr. Yadav announced that devotees visiting Ujjain will be able to bathe in Kshipra Mata’s waters year-round, with 30 km of new ghats being constructed to accommodate large crowds. A new township with markets, bus stands, and other facilities will be developed to manage the city’s growing population and tourism demand.
Urban Development and Modern Facilities
Apart from religious and pilgrimage infrastructure, CM Yadav highlighted ongoing urban development projects in Ujjain, including Medicity, Metro City, Science City, and IT Park, aimed at modernizing the city and providing citizen-friendly services.
Strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s Growth
Addressing the public, CM Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is now counted among the fastest-growing states in India, with low unemployment and inclusive opportunities for farmers, youth, women, and marginalized communities. He added that the state will continue its focus on development and welfare projects, ensuring that all communities benefit equally.
