Indore: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the inaugural session of the Global Kabuli Chana Conclave 2026 at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore, highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s rapid progress in agriculture and pulses production and its ambition to become a national leader in agri-based industries.
Food Processing Units to Be Granted Industry Status
Dr. Yadav announced that the Madhya Pradesh government is serious about promoting food processing, urging investors to establish units in the state. He confirmed that food processing units will be granted industry status, which will encourage both investment and employment generation. The government will provide full support to investors, including incentives in land, electricity, water, and taxes.
Making Madhya Pradesh a Leader in Agri-Based Industries
The CM emphasized the state’s goal to become the country’s leading hub for agriculture-based industries and food processing. He said the government is developing a new model of growth involving farmers, industries, and trade.
Dr. Yadav also noted the importance of chana (chickpeas) in Indian diets, particularly for the vegetarian population, calling it a key source of nutrition. India leads the world in pulses production and consumption, and under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, numerous schemes protect farmers’ interests while promoting their welfare on both national and global platforms.
