Bhopal / Anuppur: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav announced a major push for religious and rural development projects in Anuppur district, with a focus on enhancing pilgrim facilities, rural infrastructure, education, and tourism. The Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 114 development works worth ₹443.31 crore during a virtual address at the “Hariyali Se Khushhali Ka Naya Parivesh” event held in Kotma.
Narmada Parikrama Path to Be Developed for Pilgrims’ Ease
Chief Minister Dr Yadav reaffirmed his government’s commitment to developing Narmada Parikrama Path – a religious and spiritual route revered by millions of pilgrims. He announced development of ghats, food zones, massive plantation drives, and new amenities to enhance the pilgrimage experience in Amarkantak, the origin of the Narmada River.
A Ram Setu bridge, built at a cost of ₹13 crore under the PRASAD scheme at Ram Ghat, was also inaugurated as part of the efforts to create spiritual infrastructure on the lines of similar projects in Rishikesh.
Chitrakoot Dham to Mirror Ayodhya with ₹2,800 Cr Investment
In a major religious tourism announcement, Dr Yadav declared that Chitrakoot Dham would be developed with a massive allocation of ₹2,800 crore, mirroring the transformation seen in Ayodhya Dham. The CM also confirmed that the 1,450-km Ram Van Gaman Path is under development to trace Lord Ram’s journey across Madhya Pradesh.
Ram Van Gaman Path and Rural Development in Focus
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to all-round rural development. With NEET and JEE coaching smart classes now introduced in 84 government schools in Anuppur, and a new Kendriya Vidyalaya underway, Dr Yadav emphasized the importance of quality education for rural youth.
He also laid the foundation for the Son Barrage project, which will provide water for irrigation and drinking purposes in the region, and announced plans for an indoor sports stadium worth ₹13 crore.

Guru Purnima Gifts: Cycles, Educational Schemes, and Scooties
Dr Yadav announced that on Guru Purnima (July 10), bicycles will be distributed to schoolchildren and new educational institutions will be inaugurated. He added that uniforms and scooties will be provided to support students’ education in upcoming phases. A special Sandipani Vidyalaya is also being developed to uplift rural education.
Ladli Behna Yojana Enhanced: ₹1,500 Monthly Post-Diwali
Highlighting his commitment to women empowerment, the Chief Minister announced that eligible Ladli Behna Yojana beneficiaries will receive an additional ₹250 as shagun before Rakshabandhan and ₹1,500 per month from Bhai Dooj onwards. He said the government’s goal is to transfer ₹3,000 monthly to sisters’ accounts by 2028.
Farmer Welfare and Infrastructure Expansion
Dr. Yadav highlighted several ongoing initiatives-
- Solar pumps with 90% subsidy for farmers
- Expansion of irrigation through the Gausamvardhan Board to promote dairy farming and increase milk production
- New recruitments for 1 lakh posts at the state level, along with approval to resume promotions stuck for nine years
- Incentive of ₹25,000 under Rahgir Yojana for helping road accident victims
- Air ambulance service for the poor
- Guard of honour for body donors as a symbol of respect
