Bhopal: In a historic step for preventive healthcare, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched a statewide HPV vaccination campaign for approximately 8 lakh adolescent girls and ‘Mission Madhuhari’ to support Type-1 diabetes patients. The initiatives aim to protect girls from cervical cancer and provide comprehensive care for children and youth living with Type-1 diabetes.
HPV Vaccination to Prevent Cervical Cancer
The HPV vaccine campaign targets girls aged 14 to under 15 years, with a single-dose vaccine administered free of cost at government institutions. The campaign, running for three months (March to May 2025), has already received over 7.58 lakh vaccine doses from the central government.
Key highlights:
- Market price of the vaccine: ₹4,000, provided free in government facilities
- Daily vaccination sessions: 9 AM to 2 PM
- Parental consent mandatory, and girls will be monitored for 30 minutes post-vaccination
- Registration through the U-WIN portal, with self-registration possible using ID and parent’s mobile number
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that cervical cancer is one of the leading cancers in women, and HPV vaccination is a highly effective preventive measure. Parents were urged to ensure their daughters receive the vaccine to secure a healthy and cancer-free future.
Mission Madhuhari for Type-1 Diabetes Patients
Under ‘Mission Madhuhari’, weekly clinics will be organized at all district hospitals across Madhya Pradesh for children and youth living with Type-1 diabetes. The initiative includes:

- Expert consultation and regular follow-up
- Distribution of Type-1 diabetes kits including glucometer, test strips, and necessary tools to 759 children across 16 districts
This initiative aims to ensure early detection, timely treatment, and comprehensive care for young patients.

Focus on Awareness and Community Participation
Deputy CM Shukla emphasized the role of health workers, elected representatives, social organizations, and citizen awareness in achieving campaign goals ahead of schedule. He stated that healthcare monitoring, early detection, and routine check-ups are critical to a healthy and self-reliant next generation.
