Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state government has approved the continuation of five major farmer-centric schemes worth ₹10,500 crore under the Farmer Welfare Year initiative, extending them until 31 March 2031. The schemes aim to strengthen agriculture, boost rural economy, and ensure direct benefits for farmers.
MSP and Bonus for Urad, Mustard Included in Price Support
CM Yadav highlighted key decisions to promote urad (black gram) and mustard production:
- Urad will be procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) with an additional ₹600 per quintal bonus for farmers.
- Mustard will be included under the Price Deficiency (Bhavantar) Scheme to ensure farmers get better returns.
- Mustard production in the state is expected to grow by 28%, reaching around 3.38 million tonnes this year.

Five Major Schemes Approved Until 2031

- National Mission on Natural Farming – ₹1,011.59 crore

CM Yadav emphasized that these ₹10,500 crore schemes will:
- Boost the rural economy of Madhya Pradesh

- Ensure farmers receive maximum benefits through a combination of technology, subsidies, and value addition
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Farmer Welfare Year, stating that these schemes would serve as a milestone in improving farmers’ livelihoods and supporting the agricultural sector.
