Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday announced a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000 for women and Rs 5,000 for men as part of a new internship-linked employment initiative aimed at empowering the state’s youth. The announcement was made during the Bhoomi Pujan of six new industrial units worth Rs 416 crore at Acharpura Industrial Area, near Bhopal.
Addressing a gathering at the event, Dr. Yadav said, “Youth joining internships in industries registered under the initiative will receive monthly financial incentives.” The move is part of the government’s larger strategy to create employment opportunities and promote industrial growth in the state.
The CM emphasized that all eligible women under the Ladli Behna Yojana will start receiving Rs 1,500 per month from Diwali this year, which will gradually be increased to Rs 3,000 by 2028. He also added that during the Sawan festival, a special shagun amount will be given to women as part of the government’s outreach to sisters.
Acharpura Industrial Expansion to Generate 1,600 Jobs
The Chief Minister laid the foundation for the Acharpura Industrial Area Extension Phase-3 in Hajjampur village, spread over 31.21 hectares, and declared Acharpura as a Special Industrial Hub. The new units will be set up in key sectors like textiles, healthcare, agriculture, and garments, and are projected to create over 1,600 direct jobs locally.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Yadav said, “While a long chain of factories is being established in the state, on the other hand, our resolve to bring water to every field is also being fulfilled.”
He proudly highlighted that jackets made in Acharpura are being exported to the US and other countries, and even China is sourcing cotton from Madhya Pradesh, reflecting the state’s global footprint in textile manufacturing. “The quality of Madhya Pradesh cotton is world-renowned,” he said.
“Factories are Temples of Hard Work”
Dr. Yadav described factories as “temples of hard work,” praising the synergy between entrepreneurial investment and youth energy in solving economic challenges. He also mentioned the state’s global push for investment: “We have conducted Road Shows in several Indian cities and abroad—including UK, Dubai, Spain, Germany, and Japan—to attract investments. Today’s land allotments and groundbreaking events reflect the success of that outreach.”
Context: Revival of Youth Employment Schemes
The announcement comes in the backdrop of a previously shelved scheme. In 2019, former Chief Minister Mr. Kamal Nath had launched the Yuva Swabhiman Rojgar Yojana, which promised Rs 4,000 monthly stipend to urban unemployed youth. However, the scheme was discontinued after a change in government.
Dr. Yadav’s initiative now aims to revive and expand employment benefits for the state’s vast youth population, which includes over 1.53 crore individuals aged 20–30. The new scheme, coupled with the industrial growth push, is seen as a major employment and economic booster for Madhya Pradesh.
With these developments, the state is poised to align job creation, industrialisation, and social welfare as key drivers of its growth trajectory.
