Bhopal/Sehore: ₹1,836 Crore Transferred Under Ladli Behna Yojana, Over 1.25 Crore Women Benefited
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on April 12 released the 33rd installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, transferring ₹1,836 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state.
The CM made the announcement while addressing a Women Empowerment Conference in Ashta, Sehore district.
Major Financial Boost for Women
Describing the moment as akin to Raksha Bandhan for women, CM Yadav said the scheme reflects the government’s commitment to financial empowerment, dignity, and self-reliance of women.
He termed the initiative a historic step towards ensuring:
- Economic independence
- Social dignity
- Direct benefit transfer to women

₹184 Crore Development Projects Announced
During the event, the Chief Minister also:
- Inaugurated projects worth ₹115.32 crore
- Laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹69.60 crore
These projects, totaling around ₹184 crore, aim to boost infrastructure and development in the Sehore region.
‘Vande Mataram’ Row: CM Targets Congress
In a politically charged address, CM Yadav criticized the Indian National Congress, stating that “Vande Mataram” is an ode to Mother India and should not be viewed through a religious lens.
He accused the party of indulging in vote-bank politics and undermining national unity.
Women Empowerment and Reservation Highlighted
The Chief Minister highlighted the Centre’s push for 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies, calling it a historic step under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said this move will open new opportunities for women in governance and leadership roles.

Focus on Welfare and Self-Reliance
CM Yadav outlined several welfare achievements:
- Over 6.5 million women linked to Self-Help Groups
- More than 12 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in the state
- Financial support under schemes like Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana
He emphasized the government’s vision to transform women from beneficiaries into entrepreneurs.
Key Announcements for Sehore Region
The Chief Minister announced multiple development initiatives, including:
- New ITI in Ashta
- Girls’ hostel construction
- Irrigation and barrage projects
- Urban development and beautification works
- Expansion of educational facilities
These initiatives are expected to boost employment, infrastructure, and regional growth.
Support for Farmers Amid Weather Damage
Addressing farmers’ concerns, CM Yadav assured:
- Immediate survey of crop damage due to unseasonal rains
- Compensation through insurance and disaster relief funds
- Quick financial assistance in case of losses

Towards ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh’
Reiterating the government’s vision, the Chief Minister said the state is moving steadily towards:
- Inclusive growth
- Women-led development
- Infrastructure expansion
- Economic self-reliance
He said such initiatives are part of the broader goal of building a “Viksit Bharat” and “Viksit Madhya Pradesh.”
