Bhopal: Hawk Force Inspector Ashish Sharma, who lost his life in a fierce encounter with Naxalites, was given an emotional and grand farewell with full state honors at his native village, Bohani, on Thursday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended the funeral, offered wreath tribute, and also shouldered the martyr’s mortal remains, symbolizing the state’s deep respect and gratitude.
“State Proud of His Martyrdom,” Says Chief Minister
Addressing the grieving family and villagers, CM Dr. Yadav emphasized that Inspector Ashish Sharma’s valor in the anti-Naxal operation represents the highest form of service to the nation.
He said, “Inspector Ashish Sharma displayed indomitable courage and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The entire state is proud of his martyrdom.”
The Chief Minister assured the family that the government stands firmly with them during this difficult time.

₹1 Crore Assistance Announced
In recognition of the martyr’s bravery, CM Yadav announced a financial assistance of ₹1 crore to the family. He also declared that a park and a stadium would be developed in Bohani village in his memory.
These projects, he said, would keep the legacy of Ashish Sharma alive and inspire youth toward patriotism and public service.
Younger Brother to Be Appointed Sub-Inspector
As a special gesture under relaxed government provisions, the Chief Minister announced that Ashish Sharma’s younger brother would be appointed as a Sub-Inspector in the police department.
Dr. Yadav stated that the decision aims to provide emotional and financial support to the family while honoring the extraordinary courage of the martyr.
