Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, unveiled an exciting array of travel packages on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone for Mysore Sales International Ltd (MSIL). The newly launched packages aim to offer affordable, comfortable, and reliable travel options for individuals and families across the country.
Established in the year 1966 as a centralized marketing unit to fulfill the marketing needs of Govt. of Karnataka, MSIL today is a vibrant, multi-product, multi-dimensional marketing organization which is reckoned among best public sector organizations in the country.
Speaking at the launch event, Patil highlighted MSIL’s commitment to providing quality services that ensure safety, comfort, and reliability. He emphasized that MSIL’s reputation as a trusted government enterprise would make it a preferred choice for Indian families looking for dependable travel options. “With this foray into public tourism, MSIL aims to redefine affordable travel while upholding the highest standards of service,” Patil added.
For senior citizens and individual travelers, MSIL has introduced door-to-door services, which include pick-up and drop-off at their residences. Each journey will be accompanied by an MSIL attendant, who will offer continuous care and support throughout the trip. To further ease financial concerns, MSIL has launched an EMI scheme, allowing customers to pay for fixed-destination packages in instalments. Additionally, a special offer for government employees enables them to pay 50 percent upfront and the rest post-travel.
To cater to the lower-middle-class segment, MSIL has introduced affordable train-cum-road packages, which combine train and local bus travel. For example, a 15-18 day North India tour will cost under Rs 20,000 per person, including meals.
Patil also revealed ambitious plans for MSIL’s future, announcing an effort to increase annual transactions from Rs 250 crore to Rs 5,000 crore. The initiative will be launched by the Chief Minister soon. Under MSIL’s project to upgrade 200 liquor shops, 63 have already been revamped, resulting in a threefold revenue increase.
The new MSIL tourism packages cover religious destinations like Kashi, Ayodhya, Puri, and Adi Kailasa, as well as historical sites. International destinations, including Dubai, Singapore, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, and European countries, are also part of the offerings. Travel dates for these international tours are already scheduled, as per the press release.
In addition to the travel packages, the minister also launched MSIL’s diary, calendar, and bond xerox paper during the event. MSIL Chairman Puttaranga Shetty, Industries Department Principal Secretary S Selvakumar, Commissioner Gunjan Krishna, and MSIL Managing Director Manoj Kumar were also present at the launch.
These developments signal MSIL’s ambitious plans to enhance its tourism services and strengthen its position as a key player in the travel industry.
