Mumbai: In a significant move for urban redevelopment and infrastructure development, NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) for the redevelopment of the CGO Complex on approximately 25 acres of land near Cotton Green Depot, Mumbai. NBCC will oversee the project from concept to commissioning, ensuring comprehensive execution.

The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Adesh Titarmare, IAS, Deputy Chairperson of Mumbai Port Authority, and Mr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. This partnership is part of a broader initiative aimed at modernizing Mumbai’s port lands and unlocking their economic and developmental potential.

Scope of Redevelopment and Future Projects
Under this strategic collaboration, NBCC will execute the redevelopment of the CGO Complex, while Mumbai Port Authority has also given in-principle approval for NBCC to take up additional projects, including:
- Construction of an International Convention Centre
- Development of an Iconic Building
- Construction of Multilevel Car Parking Facilities
- Maintenance of existing buildings, sheds, wharfs, storage areas, and roads
The collaboration aims to ensure planned redevelopment, asset monetization, and creation of world-class infrastructure aligned with the Government of India’s vision for sustainable urban transformation.
