New Delhi: In a significant step under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for the financial year 2024-25, NBCC has gifted a specialized badminton wheelchair to renowned Indian para-badminton athlete Mr Munna Khalid. Known for his resilience and outstanding performances at national and international levels, Khalid’s dedication continues to inspire para-sports enthusiasts across the country.
The wheelchair, procured at a cost of Rs. 4.57 lakhs through the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi, is expected to significantly enhance Khalid’s training and competitive edge.
The formal handover ceremony took place on May 28, 2025, and was graced by NBCC’s senior officials including CMD K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Director (Commercial) Dr Suman Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Ms Ritu Pande, and other dignitaries.
This initiative highlights NBCC’s commitment to empowering differently-abled athletes and promoting inclusive sports development in India.
