Jaipur, Rajasthan: In a significant push toward making Rajasthan a national and international convention and innovation hub, NBCC (India) Ltd. has been entrusted with leading a massive ₹3,700 crore urban infrastructure project in Jaipur. The initiative, recently approved by the Rajasthan Cabinet, is poised to redefine the city’s skyline and accelerate economic growth under the Viksit Rajasthan 2047 vision.
A Landmark Project Following Bharat Mandapam’s Success
At the heart of the development is the upcoming Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre, which will be modeled after the acclaimed Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi—also executed by NBCC. Spanning over 25 acres, the convention centre is expected to cost ₹2,200 crore and feature over 2 lakh sq. mtr. of built-up area with seating capacity for 7,000–7,500 delegates.
This would make Rajasthan Mandapam the second landmark convention centre of its kind in India, further solidifying NBCC’s role as a national leader in large-scale public infrastructure development.

Comprehensive Development Plan on 95 Acres
The project will be built on 95 acres of land provided by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) along B2 Bypass, Tonk Road, a key area near Jaipur. The master plan includes:
- Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre
- Global Capability Centre (GCC) Tower
- Dedicated IT Tower
- Luxury Hotels
- Commercial and Residential Complexes
- Green and Open Urban Spaces
The initiative aims to attract global investors, technology firms, and service industry leaders, thereby boosting employment and positioning Jaipur as a modern urban centre.
Innovative Financing Model
A self-financing mechanism will be adopted, where revenue from leasing and sales of commercial, hotel, and residential plots will fund construction, significantly reducing the fiscal burden on the government. The State Government will contribute ₹635 crore, indicating strong political and institutional backing.
NBCC’s Role: From Unity Mall to Mega Convention Hub
NBCC’s presence in Rajasthan is already expanding. The company has received a ₹202 crore work order from RIICO for project management consultancy (PMC) services for the Unity Mall (PM Ekta Mall). This 20,000 sq. mtr. project near Jaipur airport is being developed under the Union Finance Ministry’s Special Assistance Scheme, which sanctioned ₹100 crore for its construction.
Unity Mall will showcase products under the ODOP (One District One Product) scheme and Geographical Indication (GI) tagged items, becoming a unique space for traditional crafts and local enterprise promotion.
Leadership Confidence in NBCC’s Proven Model
Project officials and state government leaders have voiced strong confidence in NBCC’s technical and financial capabilities, citing its track record of delivering international-standard urban infrastructure. The Rajasthan Mandapam project, in particular, is expected to be a major engine for employment generation, service industry expansion, tourism development, and positioning Rajasthan as a modern and progressive economy.
