Bhubaneswar, Odisha: In a major push for sustainable energy, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and Grid Corporation of Odisha Limited (GRIDCO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly explore renewable energy projects in Odisha, including an 800 MW Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at Dandadhar.
MOU Signed at Odisha Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026
The agreement was officially signed on 12th February 2026 during the Odisha Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026 held in Bhubaneswar. The signing ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Director (Finance) of NEEPCO, and other senior dignitaries.

Focus on 800 MW Dandadhar Pumped Storage Project
Under this collaboration, NEEPCO is exploring the feasibility of an 800 MW Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at Dandadhar, spanning Dhenkanal and Keonjhar districts.
The project aims to:
- Enhance renewable energy capacity in Odisha
- Strengthen grid stability to meet growing electricity demand
- Promote innovative and sustainable energy solutions
This initiative reflects the joint commitment of NEEPCO and GRIDCO to accelerate renewable energy adoption and support Odisha’s energy transition.
