Gautam Buddha Nagar: Newly appointed District Magistrate (DM) of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ms Medha Roopam, an IAS officer of 2014 batch from UP cadre, has wasted no time in asserting her authority. During Tehsil Samadhan Diwas held in Dadri on Saturday, the DM took strict action against five government officers who were absent without notice. In a decisive move, she issued orders to withhold their salaries, signaling that negligence in public service delivery will not be tolerated.
DM Medha Rupam Leads from the Front
Chairing her first Samadhan Diwas in the district, IAS Roopam personally listened to grievances brought forth by hundreds of villagers. Known for her no-nonsense administrative style, she directed officials to resolve complaints on the spot and instructed departments to follow up promptly on pending matters.
However, during the proceedings, she noticed the absence of five designated officers — a serious lapse in an event specifically designed for direct public interaction and grievance redressal.

Salary Halted for Absentee Officers
Taking swift action, Ms Roopam issued orders to stop the salary of all five absentees, emphasizing that accountability is non-negotiable. “If you cannot be present for the public on the day meant for them, you have no business being in public service,” said an official source quoting the DM’s sentiment.
