In a significant push to bridge the skill gap in India’s North Eastern region, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has launched an exclusive 8-month fully residential training program in 3D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX) for youth from the eight North Eastern states.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to individuals from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, who are 18 years or older as of June 2025. Applicants must have passed 10+2, or Class 10 with at least three years of relevant industry experience.

Selection and Training Details
A total of 100 candidates will be selected through a screening and evaluation process. The training will be conducted in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with Aptech Ltd, NFDC’s training partner.
- Duration: 8 months
- 6 months of classroom-based technical instruction
- 2 months of industry exposure through on-the-job training
- Certificate: Joint certification by NFDC and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)
- Learning Tools: Each participant will be provided a high-performance laptop for the duration of the course
- Modules include: hands-on animation training, VFX pipelines, film production workflows, and industry-grade software
Completely Free of Cost
The entire program, including boarding, lodging, meals, and training, is offered completely free. Selected candidates will receive:
- Residential accommodation
- Three meals a day
- Access to labs, training resources, and mentorship

This is the third edition of NFDC’s residential skilling initiative for the North East. The program aims to nurture talent, enhance employability, and boost entrepreneurship among youth from the region.
