NOIDA: National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has announced a solid financial performance for the fiscal year 2024-25, reporting a 17.6% increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT) despite facing multiple industry challenges and a decline in turnover.
At the 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually on September 29, 2025, NFL shared key financial and strategic highlights from the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025. All thirteen resolutions placed before shareholders, including adoption of financial statements and declaration of a final dividend, were passed with majority support.
Financial Performance:
- Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose to Rs 104.08 crore, up from Rs 88.52 crore in FY 2023-24.
- The growth in PBT was driven by increased urea sales, strong performance in industrial products, and reduced employee remuneration expenses.
- Turnover, however, declined to Rs 19,794.50 crore, compared to Rs 23,560.31 crore in the previous year, mainly due to lower average gas prices and reduced fertilizer sales.
Dividend Declaration:
NFL declared a final dividend of Rs 1.56 per equity share, which was approved by shareholders during the AGM.
Growth in Industrial Products Segment:
One of the major drivers of profitability was the industrial products segment, which saw a revenue surge of 43%, reaching Rs 673.48 crore, up from Rs 470.87 crore in FY 2023-24.
- Nitric Acid sales increased by 14.32%,
- Ammonium Nitrate sales grew by an impressive 37%.
Strategic Initiatives:
Product Innovation – Urea Gold:
NFL introduced Urea Gold, a Sulphur Coated Urea variant aimed at enhancing nutrient efficiency. The company produced 24 MT during the year under an R&D initiative and is setting up a 5,000 MTPA plant at its Panipat and Nangal units.
Green Energy Focus:
Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, NFL is:
- Installing a 1,500 KWp rooftop solar PV plant at its Panipat Unit, expected to be completed by FY 2025-26.
- Planning similar solar installations at Nangal, Bathinda, and Vijaipur units.
Joint Venture in Assam:
NFL has committed 18% equity participation (~Rs 572.75 crore) in a new joint venture company, Assam Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Company Limited, for establishing a new Ammonia Urea Plant in Namrup, Assam.
