Good Samaritans’ Work Recognised by ‘Nexus of Good’

Second edition of Nexus of Good (NoG) Awards founded by ex-IAS officer Anil
Swarup, took place at in a simple ceremony at FICCI Auditorium in New Delhi
on September 30 in New Delhi. The chief guest at the function was Mr Prabhat
Kumar, former IAS of UP cadre and former Governor of Jharkhand.
As many as 26 persons and organisations working were bestowed with NoG
awards in various fields like education, drinking water, sanitation and health.
Bhavna Gupta, IPS, officer posted in Surajpur district of Chhatisgarh was awarded for
launching Project Himmat under which she trained over 5000 girls in self-
defence.
Arpan, NGO, was awarded for “A multi-pronged approach to solving for child
sexual abuse in India”. Arpan helps in the prevention of CSA, intervenes in case
of disclosure and stops ongoing abuse.
UP State Medical Faculty, an organisation awarded for “Mission Niramaya” which was launched by the Chief Minister of UP on October 8 2022 and was meticulously crafted to address the inadequacies in nursing education.

National Health Mission, an organisation awarded for “Telemedicine
Transformation Reaching the Unreachable”. Bridging Healthcare gaps in Rural
India drive is spearheading endeavours to reform medical services access in
remote and underserved area and serving as an essential security net in
general well-being emergencies.
HUME Center For Ecology And Wildlife Biology, an organisation awarded for
“Ecosystem-Based Community Lead Climate Action”. In 2018, Hume Center for
ecology started a multidisciplinary initiative for building climate resilience
through local area-based precipitation and temperature-checking framework
and understudy environment administration.

Dept. of Forest and Climate Change, Chhattisgarh, was awarded for soil and
water conservation for the rejuvenation of streams inside forest area. The dept. of
Forest and Climate Change launched an initiative in which a total 135.84 lakhs soil
and water conservation structures have been constructed from 2019 to 2023.
District Koderma, Jharkhand, awarded for “Swawlambi Gaon”.The vision of this
initiative is the holistic development of a village, in terms of literacy, water
conservation, plantation, cleanliness, livelihood, environment protection and
eradication of social evils. District Collector Mr Aditya Ranjan, IAS, collected the award for making villages self-reliant, Swavlambi Gaon..
Nimal Raghavan, engineer, awarded for Make Earth Green Again. Nimal
Raghavan was an engineer by profession but now he is an organic farmer and a
social activist.

Miracle Foundation India, Orphanage, awarded for “Family For Every Child In
Our Lifetime”. Since 2000 The Miracle Foundation India is working for children
in vulnerable situations and childcare institutions.
David Gandhi, was awarded for Sloping Agriculture Land Technology (SALT).
David Gandhi took an initiated of SALT Adaptation with his wife Ms. Usha
Gandhi who moved from their home in Pune to Aben.
AGA Khan Rural Support Programme, awarded for Proponents Of Change. AGA
Khan Rural Support Programme encourages individual in SHGs to become
Irrigation Service Providers (ISP) by the use of solar operated irrigation pumps.

Delhi Commission For Protection Of Child Rights, awarded for Early Warning
Systrem. Early Warnimg System uses attendance as primary tool to identify
such children and nudges the ecosystem into action.
Voluntary Interation For Education And Welfare Of Society {VIEWS}, awarded
for Inclusoive Education. VIEWS has been developing audiobooks from class 6
to post-graduation for the students as per the state curriculum.
Ms Richa Gupta, was awarded for Making Wellbeing Accessible To 30 Million
Vulnerable Children.
OASIS MOVEMENT, Gujarat , awarded for OASIS P4PC ( PARTNERSHIP FOR
POSITIVE CHANGE). OASIS Movement works to inspire leadership through self
improvement, focussed on empowering youth.

MUKTANGAN EDUCATION TRUST, awarded for MUKTANGAN. Muktangan is an
innovation, inclusive, child-friwarded for Project Samavesh. SOL’s ARC is a registered charitable
trust working in the space of inclusion for the past 20 years.
DEPT. Of Rural Development And Panchayat Raj (RDPR) GOVT. of Karnataka,
awarded for Rejuvenating Public Libraries. RDPR has embarked on an
ambitious endeavor to revive and refurbish the nearly 6,000 libraries in state.
THE AKSHAYA PATRA FOUNDATION, awarded for implementing Prune Minister PM POTION PROGRAMME. The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s primary initiative is to provide nutritious mid-day meals under the PM Poshan Program to over twenty lakh children of both government and government-aided schools in 15 states and two union territories.
BHARTI FOUNDATION, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises was given the award for helping the underprivileged children get education and life skills through their “Quality support program(QSP). Nancy Agnihotri Khanna, received the award on behalf of the foundation.
Dr. Aravind Chaturvedi, was awarded for Mission Kayakalp undertaken in chainpurwa village of Brabanki district in 2020 and continues till date. The mission started by Dr Aravind during his stint as SP of Barabanki district, successfully stopped the illicit liquor trade in the village and rehabilitated both manufacturers and consumers.
Richie Pandey, DM of Jehanabad district in Bihar, was awarded for Tech-Driven Grievance Redressal. Pandey, took the lead in harnessing technology and attuned it to address the need for grievance disposal of local people.

Electronics and Information Technology Department, Govt of Odisha, awarded
for MO SARKAR. It is one initiative that uses a randomised feedback mechanism that connects citizens directly with their elected representatives and top-ranked government officials.
INDUS ACTION, awarded for Making It Happen. Indus Action is at the frontline in addressing the entrenched challenge of poverty and systemic socio-economic barriers through the implementation of Right to Education, National Food Security Act and various labour welfare provisions.

District Administration of Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, was awarded for resolving people’s issues by organising Nidaan Shivir.
