The Four Guinness World Records Include:
- Longest continuous laying of Bituminous Concrete: 28.89 lane-km completed in 24 hours
- Highest quantity of Bituminous Concrete laid continuously: 10,655 metric tonnes in 24 hours
- Largest continuous Bituminous Concrete paving volume: 57,500 metric tonnes
- Longest continuous paving stretch: 156 lane-km of 3-lane highway
These records were achieved across Package-2 and Package-3 of the six-lane BKV Economic Corridor, surpassing the previous global record of 84.4 lane-km.
Two Records Set on January 6, Two More on January 11
The milestone unfolded in two phases:
January 6, 2026: NHAI set two Guinness World Records by completing 28.89 lane-km of Bituminous Concrete paving and laying 10,655 metric tonnes of material within 24 hours.
January 11, 2026: Building on this momentum, NHAI created two additional records by executing 57,500 metric tonnes of paving and achieving 156 lane-km of continuous construction, a first anywhere in the world for a six-lane national highway project.
