The 107.14 MW commissioned is part of NHPC’s ambitious 300 MW solar power project at Karnisar. The remaining capacity of the plant is currently undergoing trial operations, and its commercial operation date will be notified at a later stage, the company added.
“This marks a significant step forward in NHPC’s efforts to expand its presence in the renewable energy sector,” the company said. The Karnisar project is a part of NHPC’s broader clean energy strategy as the hydropower giant diversifies its portfolio by investing in solar power and other green energy ventures.
The operationalisation of this solar capacity in Rajasthan also contributes to India’s renewable energy targets and strengthens the state’s position as a leader in solar energy generation.
