New Delhi: State-owned NHPC Limited has informed stock exchanges that its shareholding and voting rights in Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL) have temporarily declined from 59.51% to 49.72%. The move comes after Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDCL), a co-promoter of RHPCL, infused additional equity into the company.
NHPC stressed that this reduction in its holding is temporary, and its stake in RHPCL will rise once it contributes matching equity, which is currently under process.
Equity Infusion by J&K State Power Development Corporation
The temporary change in NHPC’s shareholding follows the capital contribution by JKSPDCL, which increased the equity of RHPCL. As a result, NHPC’s percentage holding was reduced, though the absolute value of its investment remains unchanged. NHPC confirmed that once it participates in the ongoing equity infusion, its shareholding and voting rights in RHPCL will revert to a higher level.
