The Government of India has appointed Ms. Nidhi Khare, IAS (JH:1992), as the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. She has been assigned this additional charge in her current capacity as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved this assignment with immediate effect. Ms. Khare will serve in this role until the appointment of a regular incumbent or further orders, whichever is earlier.
