New Delhi: In a key bureaucratic development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a two-year extension of central deputation tenure for Nila Mohanan (IAS:2007:AGMUT), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.
According to the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, the extension is effective beyond October 4, 2025, and will remain valid for two years or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Tenure in Central Government Roles
Ms. Mohanan began her central deputation on October 5, 2020, as Deputy Secretary in DoPT. She was later redesignated as Director, and in June 2023, she was empanelled as Joint Secretary, following which she was appointed to the same position in DoPT.
In August 2024, she was transferred to the Cabinet Secretariat as Joint Secretary, where she currently continues to serve.
