Senior IAS officer Mr Niranjan Arya is the new Chief Secretary of Rajasathan. The announcement regarding this came on Saturday night.
A veteran Dalit bureaucrat, Mr Arya’s elevation however surprised quite a few in Jaipur’s corridors of power. For, he has superseded not one but 10 officers who were eyeing this post. In the process, he successfully leap-frogged over 1985, 87 and 88 batch officers.
Mr Arya replaces Mr Rajiv Swaroop, who has retired as the state’s Chief Secretary.Related Stories
